In my filming I used the 180 degree rule, at the end of my story, when the teacher and student are having a conversation. I used this type of shot to enable to see both the teachers and students faces while they are talking and listening. I also used this so that the shots didn’t confuse the audience and to keep the shots looking identical and so that they didn’t differ from shot to shot.
I used the rule of thirds in all of my shots. This is effective because it allows the audience to see exactly what I want them to see. For example when the student was talking to the teacher I used the rule of thirds so that the student was centre of the camera with his eyes a third way down the camera which makes the audience look at him as soon as the shots appears, and allows the audience to know that he is the main person in that shot.
I also used match on action in my filming, allowing me to used two shots for one movement. For example when I was opening the door, I first recorded me opening the door from the outside, then it cut to me walking through the door but now the camera is inside. I used this technique very effectively because it looks like it flows very well and you cannot see the cut which you don’t want to see.
During production I faced many challenges. The first challenge I faced was that on the first day of filming I didn't know who should be my main actor who play the student. So after about ten minutes of thinking, I put myself forward. By doing this I knew that are main actor was going to always to available, because it was me. Another challenge I face was my filming location. This is because the end of my 30 second video is based in a class room and, due to that face I was in a film, filming within class hours most of the classes were taken. So it took me about 20minutes to look and ask for a classroom that was free, and will be free every week and the same time. Another challenge we faced was that one day my main character was wearing different clothes. This didn't allow me to film a decent amount of shots and on that day I only got 2 establishing shot done, which was the only shots that I could do due to the any characters in it. If I was going to film again I would make sure my storyboard had exactly the shot I was going to film. This is because while filming I had to make about 5 more shots up on the spot due to the fact that I didn't have a lot of shot in my story board to start with.
During post production the challenges I
faced was that when I put my film together I noticed that some cut didn't
flows as they should. For example it cuts to me walking towards my
teacher, and then the next cut is of me already sitting down. When I was
filming I didn't notice it, but when I was editing it didn't look that great.
So to fix this I had to cut away to a clock before it shows me sitting
down. By doing so it added time on to the scene, so that
now when it cuts to me sitting down, it looks much better. Also
another challenge I faced was that sometime the Macs kept on crashing
as I was editing. This slowed me down because some of my editing got deleted so
I had to start from fresh. If I was I going to edit again I wouldn't
change a lot. I felt very confident with the editing I got done. But if I
had to change something I would edit a little less sooner to my dead line
day in order to give me time to re-film any bits I am not happy with. Such as
the bit when the student walks into the class room to when he goes to
sit down. I would make sure it shows me sitting down instead of just
cutting to me already sitting.

Also another strength is the camera work. At the start of the film I panned towards the school. In this movement the camera did not shack and it moved at a steady speed.
Also another strength was the editing process. I feel that I worked very well while editing and that I made my match on action shots look very good and not jumpy.
One weakness is that I started editing a bit to late, so when I found errors in my work I didn't have enough time to fully correct every single one. for example I didn't notices that in one shot I was raining and in another it wasn't. So when I saw this in editing I couldn't change it because I had no more time
Overall the improvements I would make if I had another chance to do this piece of work is that I would, spend more time filming each shot to make sure it was perfect. Also I would plan my storyboard much better in order to get me a much easier time while filming, this will lead to me having more time to perfect each shot.
